Non-profit organisations are the one which relies on the government grants and the large donations. They are basically trusts, cooperatives, advocacy, charity, environmental and religious groups. They don't run their business to seek profit but for the welfare of the public. A non-profit organisation requires funds for the expenses such as for paying rents, for equipment etc. They generate revenue through the donations, collected fees from the services. These organisations don't easily get a business loan because these are organisations that come under the risk category from the lender point of view.

They have a risk whether the borrower will repay the loan or not. Some lenders are ready to take a risk but they charge a higher rate of interest. The application process to apply for a loan depends on the lender but you need to provide your detailed information regarding your financial information such as your revenues, asset etc. The more assets you have, the more chances of getting a higher amount. You should always choose the lender who has more experience of lending to the non-profit organisation because they can understand your financial needs very well. You need to submit collateral as a security so that lender can possess it when you are failed to repay the loan amount. So, it is suggestible that you should try to seek out a grant or raise money before taking a loan and if those options are not available then go for a loan.
